Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is a traditional Chinese medical treatment that uses negative pressure to create suction on the skin, stimulating local tissues and acupoints. Its primary benefits include promoting blood circulation, relieving muscle pain, regulating bodily functions, and assisting in dispelling dampness and cold. For conditions such as sports injuries, chronic strain, or muscle stiffness caused by cold exposure, cupping helps relax fascia and muscles while reducing inflammatory responses. In traditional Chinese medicine, cupping is believed to unblock meridians and restore the balance of yin and yang. For most clients, cupping does not cause significant discomfort; however, it is common for temporary marks or bruises (cup marks) to appear on the skin after treatment.

In addition, relaxing massage applied to spasmodic or stiff muscles can reduce muscle tension and restore elasticity. Gentle techniques (such as stroking) activate the parasympathetic nervous system, helping to ease anxiety and improve sleep, while stronger stimulation can have an invigorating and energizing effect. Clinical studies have shown that regular massage can lower cortisol levels, providing supportive benefits for stress-related conditions such as headaches and insomnia. For sports injuries or chronic overuse, massage helps release adhesions in fascial tissue, promotes synovial fluid secretion in the joints, and thereby enhances flexibility.
